What happens once I surrender my pet ?
- Once we take in your animal/animal's they will under go assessments and medical checks.
How long do you hold them for before they go up for homing ?
- We also hold them for a minimum of 7 days before they go up for adoption.(This time period will vary on medical status, age, behaviour)
I'm worried I haven't seen my pet appear on your page?
- Occasionally some do not make it to our web page as they get snapped up straight away so may not appear on our pages.
Do you Euthanase?
- We do not euthanise any animal unless it is to relief suffering and pain (As this law and stays in line with the Animal welfare Act and the five freedoms). If the animal is not able to be homed then they stay with us hear in rescue.
What happens if my circumstances change and I can no longer look after the animal/animals ive adopted from you in the past ?
- If your circumstances change please get back in contact with us. As per our adoption agreements we ask that all pre adopted animals come back to our rescue as we already know that animal and have history on them it also means that we can be sure that we find them a forever home and they are not passed around and live in unsuitable accommodation.
Do I need to bring my own carrier to collect my new pet ?
- Yes, you do. This is important that your new family member is picked up in a secure carrier. ( Cardboard boxes/ make shift boxes - if you turn to up to collect your new family member in one of these we will NOT let the animal go as this would not be suitable form of transport )
What happens if my current pet does Not bond with my new family member ?
- This will take time. New owners must be prepared to give socialising a good attempt,
Rabbits -Minimum 3 months
Guinea pigs - Minimum 2 months
Mice and Gerbils- Minimum 4 weeks
- We will be on hand to give advice to owners and discuss options.
Can my children be the main carer for our family pet ?
- NO- only members of the family 18 years old and above can be the main carer for the pet. An adult has to sign the animals adoption paperwork.
Do you check the animals accommodation?
- Yes we follow welfare standards for all of our animals so will be looking for animals to be house in the correct size accommodation.
Do you do boarding ?
- No - unfortunately we do not have the space to board peoples animals swell as our rescue animals.
Do you do socialising for people ?
- As much as we would love top offer this service we however do not offer this as again we are limited on our space.
Do you take in Wildlife ?
- No - We don't take in wildlife - Please contact your local wildlife rescue if you require help with wildlife.
Do you have Volunteers / Work experience ?
- Currently as we are so small we do not have the resources to take on volunteers/ work experience - YET
