History: Alvin was born in rescue here at Small Critter Rescue, Somerset.His Mum is our lovely Sweat Pea (see above) . Sweat Pea didn't have long in our rescue before she gave birth so we tried to make sure she was fed up well  to help with the growth and milk for the babies. This seemed to have/ still working well as she had three very cute and healthy babies. As Alvin is a male he has to be split from his mum and sister when he is of sexual maturity to prevent any in breeding. He will be looking for that home that will continue to handle him and bring him on to be a very well rounded boy :). 

Martha: Poor Martha has had no luck she came to us originally in Jan 24 where she came in from a multi guinea pig rescue at that time she had sustained a lot of injuries from other guinea pigs and a lot of loss of hair , after treatment and care she was then assessed. Due to where she had came from she would not socialise with other females with out things turning into a fight. So we placed her up for homing where she was up for homing for over a year. We had then managed to place her in a new home where she lived with a castrated male, this relationship was very up and down according to her owner at the time but she was with this male for about 3 months where during this time the communication with the owner stopped so assuming all was fine we were surprised to have received a message from a distressed owner saying Martha had caused a lot of injuries to their boy (now we didn't see these injuries and we did not know all the ins and out of this incident) however in less than 24hrs of us receiving a message  Martha had been dropped off at a Pets at home.  We went and collected Martha and she was very distressed and scared, after two weeks Martha started to get back to her normal self. Due to the nature of this incident we decided we will socialise Martha with a friend but for us to also review again her behaviour. After a few days both Martha and Alvin seemed to take a shine to one another with we then pursued and to our delight the love each other and are seen cuddling up together. We have kept a close eye on them and have found no issues between them. This being said we feel they are better off just staying as a pair.

History:  Fred came in due to his owners change in circumstances. with meant he wasn't getting the attention he once was.Fred is a very sweet boy who will come over to collect his veg from you. but he loves nothing more than to snuggle down in his fabric hide. and he is looking for a friend that will snuggle down with him .

History: Came in due to a Marriage brake down where a lot of Guinea pigs were kept and they unfortunately, were not kept in the best conditions and were used for breeding.   

 PARSNIP:Is a very shy but sweet  BIG young(under a year approx) boy who like the others haven't had the best start and has been picked on and has lost some hair due to others "barbering" him, He would suite a quite home. He can be quick to catch him but once you have hold of him he soon settles and enjoys a little cuddle.  We are looking to home him with a lovely girl guinea pig.

History: Dobby  was born in rescue here at Small Critter Rescue, Somerset with his brother. As the boys are both male they have to be split due to a little set too they had with each other when they reached sexual maturity. He is VERY shy and Very Quick we are  looking for that home that will continue to handle him and bring him on to be a very well rounded boy :). I mean Just LOOK at THOSE EARS!!! who can Resist <3. Both boys can be shy and wriggly.

History: This Lovely boy was born in our rescue in one of our lovely Fosterers. His mum where part of the BIG rescue we had done last year. Stuart is a lovely boy who has got use to being handled but will need to be continued in his new home. He is a very handsome boy who needs to be view as his photos doesn't do him justice.

History: Mim -came in as part of our HUGE rescue. She was very skinny on arrival with thinning of her hair. She was pregnant on intake however due to the stressed and the fact she is only a baby her self she aborted her pregnancy. She is now back on her feet and ready to find her forever home. She is nervous and is very wiggly when handled , new owners would need to help her feel more secure when it comes to handling. 

New owners have to be aware that due to her coming from a huge rescue where breeding was not necissarly controlled we have seen one of the male's that could have fathered her have a hereditary cateract at a young age. new owners must bear this in mind as she could have the same development at a young age at some point , BUT we really don't know. Her eyes are perfect currently.

History: These two are just the sweetest Sven was born in our rescue in one of our lovely Fosterers. But both Judy and evens mum had came from a BIG rescue we had done last year. History: These two are both very sweet Rita had came in as part of the big rescue we have done recently and Ricky came in due to a change in circumstance through no fault of his own. Rita is a very shy girl who needs time to build trust. Ricky Is a bit more confident than Rita however he has been known to be VERY picky when it comes to his friends that much so he has injured older female's in the past where he will fight with them.  We have not seen this behaviour with Rita however we will only be looking to place these two as a pair NOT in a group.
